"In our school we don't celebrate Halloween. Because it's Cristian school," said Amui
Then I tried to think about this, even them, they have their standard and they DO follow it. Not just follow what other does. Halloween? Where does it come from?
Familiar case :
"I don't join Christianity, because once I join that, I can't have this ritual (kinda Ritual like having a lot kind of food for dead people, like ancestors) anymore. I like to listen to pastor's talk. But not joining them," said Bobo.
THE point here is when we have had our standard, our principles, we stick with it.
WE can't have double standards.
Even other religion, they understand it so clear. Once they commit with one standard, it's like locked. One or other. Choose one.
It's pretty sad, even in our society, still many people, have been labeling them as One thing, but still believing another thing as standard of living.
Mixing between Hinduism thing with islamic thing is not something strange. It's normal. And to replace it, is so difficult. They would say, "we have been doing it for so long, it's been like this since our grand, and grand, and grand ancestors."
It takes a lot of effort to explain it to them. It is culture. Not real religion principles. And worse thing here is that actually, culture thing what makes our life more difficult. The real Islamic things, what makes our life easier. But whole concept just got misunderstood.
Not talking about whoever, but people who are so close with myself. Wish we can do our own dakwah to people around us. Close ones with us.
